whakahekeheke:

Politically, the United States is dead.

 Thoughts?
It seems to me Mr. Harper is correct in identifying his naivete, but I would like him to provide an example of a place anywhere in time and space where his solution has ever worked. Sounds like the Tea Party credo in many ways: Help only those you love and fight relentlessly for your own beliefs.
Makes me go, “Hmmmmmm…”
ADDENDUM: Until people realize that inherent to any sort of cohesive society we must embrace, if not love, ALL people, not just those we know and love already, we are destined for a continued legacy of clan warfare at myriad scales.
Individualism without any sense of the collective only perpetuates a flawed concept of society. To exist in any feasible way a social contract must be adhered to, and this means checking yourself and understanding it is NOT all about you, your beliefs and those of your immediate clan.
