Twitter to the Extra Credit Rescue!

As part of a collaborative effort with KQED you have an opportunity to earn even MORE extra credit in Economics this semester!

If you want to do this here is precisely what you have to do:

1. If you do not have a Twitter account (or one that is public) you need to create a Twitter account.

2. Then you need to follow this Twitter account: AHA_Lev

3. Then you need to go to the KQED Do Now! Site.

4. Then you need to select any of the Do Now prompts (there are 31 and you may do any of them!) To complete the activity you must post a reply to the prompt on your Twitter and in the tweet you MUST mention @KQEDedspace and #KQEDDoNow. Lastly you must post a link to your Twitter page HERE so that I can be directed to your Twitter to give you points.

President Obama slow jams the news with Jimmy Fallon here and he is speaking specifically to the issues surrounding interest on student loans.

1. What are your thoughts on the President’s take on the loan situation and the interest issue?

2. What are your thoughts on this forum for the information? Does Obama seem more or less credible and why?

3. In terms of what we know about the issues surrounding student loans and college costs, what do you think is the best solution? Some people have suggested programs that forgive college cost depending on the subsequent work graduates do, some people have said that college should be free and paid for out of wages earned from jobs attained based on the students’ degrees, and there have been many more ideas… What are yours?
